Brianna Lombardo grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She started dance training very early and graduated from the School of Toronto Dance Theatre in 2001. Upon graduation she received a Chalmers Grant to study at ImPulsTanz in Vienna, Austria. After working in Toronto with Michael Trent and the Empty Collective, Brianna moved to Montreal in 2002. She worked with Isabelle Van Grimde, and toured extensively the work Joe by Jean Pierre Perreault, before joining OVertigo in 2004.
After spending 6 years with the company, Brianna threw herself back in the independent community working in close collaboration and performing with Mélanie Demers MAYDAY Danse, Caroline Laurin Beaucage and Martin Messier, Jacque Poulin-Denis Grand Poney, Sasha Ivanochko and Frédérick Gravel Groupd’art/GravelArtGroup, to name a few. Simultaneously she has been teaching Overtigo and Mayday workshops and repertoire and recently became a certified yoga teacher. She finds her inspiration in constantly moving, staying hungry and curious.
